Complete Background Screening (CBS) has been named employer of the year in the private sector at this year’s Chwarae Teg Womespire awards.
The South Wales-based background screening company fought off stiff competition from PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PwC), Agri Advisor Solicitors and JCP solicitors, and was presented with the award at the inaugural ceremony held at the Royal Welsh College of music and drama in Cardiff.
The Womenspire awards celebrate the achievements of women across Wales, commenting on the win, Rachel Bedgood, CEO of CBS, says,
“It was an honour to be nominated for the Womenspire awards but to win and be recognised for the work that we do is a fantastic feeling. We all work exceptionally hard to provide a brilliant service for our clients, which has been highlighted in previous award wins. However, for me, it’s personally an honour to be recognised as the employer of the year.
“This achievement is particularly important to me as much of our recruitment happens in the South Wales Valleys and works to regenerate the area. Supporting the local economy and providing a great place to work is something I’m very passionate about and I plan to maintain this culture as CBS continues to grow.”
Established in 2005, CBS is Wales’ largest and the UK’s third largest provider of background checks working with clients including Tesco, Sky and B&Q. The business has gone from strength to strength, developing its capabilities through investment in innovative technology, expanding the office space from a derelict building to a state of the art office and growing its team from one to ten.
The multi-award winning company’s success can be attributed to its expert team, commitment to quality standards and the development of pioneering new products in the CRB/DBS field. These have helped reduce average processing times to four days, which is up to 30 times faster than industry competitors.
