‘King of Desserts’ Expands with New North Wales Factory

A historic property in Caergwrle, near Wrexham, has been acquired by the “King of Desserts” Mr Tee as a production headquarters.

Mr Tee has built up a huge social media following, having gone viral for his range of ice creams and sweet treats, all served from the iconic “dessert parlour on wheels”.

Derby House, located on Castle Street in Caergwrle, comprises 3,583 sq ft over two floors. Legat Owen, which managed the sale of the property, said the strategic investment marks a significant milestone in the company’s continued growth and commitment to serving desserts to a fanbase not just in North Wales, but across the country.

The newly acquired premises will serve as a central hub for Mr Tee’s production activities, supporting increased demand and enabling the business to scale its operations more efficiently.

The facility is expected to enhance the company’s capacity to innovate and deliver its range of desserts to a growing customer base. Mr Tee also supplies other ice cream vendors, dessert parlours and milkshake parlours all over the country.

Cassim Imran, who will manage the site in Caergwrle, said:

“We’re thrilled to be setting up in Caergwrle. This new facility gives us the space and resources to innovate, grow, and continue bringing joy to our customers.

“We’re grateful to Legat Owen for their expert guidance throughout the acquisition process, from beginning to end. They made what could have been a complex journey run very smoothly.”

Will Sadler, Director at Legat Owen, who facilitated the sale, said:

“We’re delighted to have completed the sale and to see the building being brought into use. We look forward to seeing what they do with the property.”

The property was originally constructed as the Derby Cinema, opening for business in 1921 and operating as a cinema until the mid 1960s.

The facility is currently undergoing preparations for operational use, with production activities anticipated to commence later this year.
