Harlech Food Emporium Launches Coffee Brand

Y Groser Harlech has joined forces with Ffa Da coffee to produce Y Groser Harlech speciality coffee blend.

The elegant grocers-cum-delicatessen, which opened in March 2022, not only stocks a wide range of Welsh goods and wines, but also champions community values.

Celebrating the best of local produce alongside top brand names, the store is a wholesome alternative to the supermarket, supporting the Welsh economy.

Owners Gary Stevenson (51) and Adrian Stevenson (55) have lived in the area for a number of years and are passionate about service and quality ingredients

They said:

We are so proud to support local businesses, by displaying their products on our shelves, and we love Ffa Da Coffee. We approached them a while ago about making our own unique blend – which they were happy to do.

Since we opened we have had a number of small independent businesses reach out to us about stocking their products. These range from honey and cider makers, to specialist cakes and handmade chocolates. We’re proud to stock Welsh products and love having our very own coffee which is roasted freshly just down the road in Llandanwg.

Sioned, owner of Ffa Da Coffee, said:

We take great pleasure in bringing the best quality coffee beans to the Cambrian coast, we only roast 100% arabica green beans from suppliers who are committed to ensuring that all workers in their global supply chains enjoy safe and fair treatment in their workplace, so when Adrian and Gary approached us from Y Groser Harlech we rose to the challenge. After sampling many different beans and roast profiles we settled on a Brazilian blend which offered rich aromatic flavour of deep dark cocoa and a smooth lasting mouthfeel, all of which is heightened by the coffees freshness.

The new coffee blend is now on the shelves at Y Groser in Harlech, or available to take away from 8am every morning.

Y Groser is situated on Harlech High Street, not far from the town’s medieval castle.

An ordering and delivery service is also available as well as speciality hampers.
