Emyr Afan Appointed As TAC Deputy Chair


TAC (Welsh Independent Television Producers) is delighted to announce that Emyr Afan has been appointed as Deputy Chair of TAC following last week's Council meeting.  Emyr Afan is CEO of television production company Avanti Media and has won a large number of awards from Bafta and other organisations for his programmes.

Emyr has been a member of TAC Council for many years and his contribution has been extremely important in representing independent production companies and the sector in Wales.

Dyfrig Davies, TAC Chair said:  

I am delighted that Emyr has agreed to take on the role. His extensive experience and natural communication and leadership skills will be an asset to TAC. We are building on a new team at an exciting and challenging time within the sector and I am very much looking forward to working with him more closely.

Emyr Afan, TAC Deputy Chair, said:  

I would like to thank Dyfrig for the welcome and his support for me and I am delighted to accept the post. TAC has built up a solid platformover the years to become a strong voice. I feel in my heart that we are coming towards a key stage in the world of media and broadcasting, and I look forward to being of practical assistance in supporting Dyfrig and the team.”

Dyfrig Davies, TAC Chair, added:

TAC has many plans ahead including building on our training programme, responding to S4C's new strategy, working with Welsh and UK governments on key policy issues and working with our broadcasters.  We must ensure athriving and successful creative sector and Emyr's expertise will help us do this going forward.”
