Brewin Dolphin Signs Armed Forces Covenant

As the Royal British Legion launched its annual national Poppy Appeal last week, wealth manager Brewin Dolphin has signed the Armed Forces Covenant.

This is an official promise by the nation to ensure that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly and with respect in the communities, economy and society in which they live. Over 7,000 organisations from across industry, not-for-profit and government sectors have pledged to uphold the covenant.

Some of the ways in which Brewin Dolphin will uphold the Covenant is by supporting the employment of veterans, recognising military skills and qualifications in its recruitment and selection process and by working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to support the employment of service leavers. It will also support its employees who serve in the reserve forces and as volunteer leaders in military cadet organisations. The company will also endorse national events, such as the Poppy Appeal, Armed Forces Day and the various Remembrance activities that take place each year.

David Myrddin-Evans, head of Brewin Dolphin’s Cardiff office and the company’s Armed Forces Covenant sponsor, said:

“I am proud that Brewin Dolphin has decided to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and to pledge to the whole armed forces community that we will do all we can to ensure they are treated fairly and without disadvantage. I have seen first-hand how much the armed forces community contributes to businesses and I am delighted that we will be able to give back to them.”
