Wales Technology Awards Extends Entry Deadline as Partners Announced

The Wales Technology Awards have extended the entry deadline to 10 June 2022. The Awards, to be held in person on 15th September, champion the outstanding achievements and innovations made by Wales’s thriving tech industry and the people within it.

Twelve award categories cover all aspects of the Welsh tech sector, including the prestigious Sir Michael Moritz Tech Start-Up Award and Best International Impact of the Year Award. Organisations can enter themselves and nominate their outstanding talent for the Rising Star or Tech Leader Awards.

Entries must be sent through the online form by extended deadline, closing Friday 10 June 2022 at 11:59pm.

The Wales Technology Awards is thrilled to also announce Sony UK TEC as Associate Partner and the Department of International Trade as Partner of the Best International Impact Award.

Wales is being increasingly recognised for its strength in building technology clusters. CSconnected, a global centre of excellence for Compound Semiconductor technologies, is Partner for the Best Photonics Application Award. Leading law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys, which specialises in technology amongst other areas, is Partner for the Best Blockchain Application Award.

SPIE and Venture Graduates are Supporting Partners for the Wales Technology Awards this year.

The panel of judges are globally recognised in their fields. Chairing the expert Judging Panel is Aled Miles, President & Chief Executive Officer of Sauce Labs and Welsh Government Envoy to the United States. Also on the panel are Priya Guha MBE, Venture Partner Merian Ventures & NED UKRI; Dr Rhian Hayward MBE, Chief Executive Officer of AberInnovation; Matt Warren, Founder and CEO of Veeqo; and Richard Theo, Founder of Wealthify and ActiveQuote.

Created by non-profit organisation Technology Connected, previously known as ESTnet, this will be the eighth Wales Technology Awards and the first since the pandemic began. The Awards have been designed to spotlight collaboration, innovation, and benefits to society and recognise these achievements on a global stage.
