New Affordable Counselling and Training Centre Opens in Cardiff

SHARE

An affordable and accessible counselling service, Supporting Minds, is expanding its reach across the UK by opening a new centre in Cardiff mid-May 2022.

Located in St Mellons Business Park, the centre will provide counselling and professionally recognised therapy training to help support the mental health and wellbeing of individuals in Cardiff and its surrounding area.

The new facility in Cardiff, which aims to make therapies accessible through a range of affordable, quality services, will be the second location to open in the UK. This follows the success of its flagship centre in Lincoln, which was founded by counsellor and psychotherapist Jenine Butroid in 2014. Supporting Minds has since rapidly grown training over 450 counsellors and supporting over 4,000 clients.

The new centre will offer a calm, quiet and safe space where people can work through their emotional issues with counsellors in a confidential environment. Specialising in talking therapy, Supporting Minds will offer face-to-face and online counselling to individuals, couples and families from the age of four covering bereavement, addiction, anxiety, depression, stress and relationship problems and more.

Jenine said,

We’re delighted to announce the opening of our new centre in Cardiff, which means more people than ever will have easy access to our services. I believe that counselling should be available to everyone, not just for resolving problems but also as a way of exploring who we are and encouraging individual responsibility and empowerment. Counselling shouldn’t be elitist, and money should never be an obstacle to healing.

It is becoming more and more difficult to face the complexities and challenges that occur in day-to-day life, so enabling people to take back control and improve their emotional well-being is a fantastic contribution to society. Only by getting to the core of our being through self-exploration can real, lasting change occur.

As well as delivering quality therapies for individual and group clients, Supporting Minds Cardiff will also be offering accredited training to trainee therapists, including a complete BTEC syllabus in Therapeutic Counselling. The centre will also look to bring its award-winning workshops into the region’s schools.

Supporting Minds adheres to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and National Counselling Society (NCS) ethical frameworks to ensure its business and practices remain safe and ethical.

The address for Supporting Minds Cardiff is Anda House, St Mellons Business Park, Cardiff CF3 0LT.
