Marketing Agency Appoints Industry Leaders to Senior Team

Liberty Hires

A group of Welsh digital marketing agencies, consultancies and training providers, has appointed four new key hires with a combined 60 years of sector experience.

This move comes off the back of a year of record growth and is aimed at priming the business for further expansion next financial year.

The team will work across Liberty, which turns 17 this year, as well as financial services specialists Balance and Foundation, who focus on beauty and wellbeing.

With more than 20 of experience in SEO, Scott McLay joins as Head of Organic. Past brands that he has worked on range from Sainsbury’s Bank and HSBC to EasyJet and Zoopla.

Sophie Fell, recently voted ‘one of the top marketers to watch in 2025’ by Girls in Marketing, joins as Head of Paid Media. For the past decade Sophie has supported many brands with PPC, from LinkedIn and Vue Cinemas to the National Trust.

In addition, Liberty has bolstered the client services team with two important hires and made a new board-level promotion.

Iestyn Page joins the company and the board as Client Services Director. Iestyn has 15 years of experience leading client relationships and driving growth for both agencies and in-house teams, while also developing specialist expertise within the insurance sector.

Greg Jones also joins as Client Services Lead and brings 15 years of sales and marketing experience. Previously a Digital Key Accounts Director at Reach PLC he has worked across verticals and clients such as BT, Admiral, WWF and Coca-Cola.

Charlotte Rudd, who has been in the agency for seven years has been promoted to Operations Director. Charlotte has risen through the ranks, starting as a junior SEO and has most recently held the Head of Delivery title. This new board-level role will oversee all delivery outputs across the agencies and focuses on enhancing services.

Grant Thomas, Managing Director, said:

“Liberty is closing the financial year with a projected 15% YoY revenue growth. As we prepare for another strong year in April 2025, we’ve made strategic hires to meet the ever-changing market demands.

“This past year we’ve found ourselves helping our clients in the boardroom more than ever before; helping our clients talk ROI, revenue and profit impact. To stay ahead of this market requirement, we’ve brought in experts with 10+ years of experience to help our clients further with digital marketing business case development and forecasting.”

Gareth Morgan, Founder and Group CEO, said:

“Increasing the talent and the overall level of experience and knowledge in the agency, whilst also recognising and nurturing existing superstars, has been a focus of ours this past year. To land this much expertise in the space of a couple of months is going to be game changing. In fact, it already is we’ve seen a big impact on how we deliver work and how we communicate with clients so far in 2025.

“Our market is changing constantly, and we need to make sure we offer the best services possible and prove value to clients, whether that’s our current SEO, PPC, PR and social media offerings, or the new areas we are developing, such as AI marketing and our advanced digital training courses. I can’t wait to see the impact this all has and where we are this time next year.”
