Geldards Celebrates Three New Partners in New Year Promotions


Leading law firm Geldards has announced three new partners in different disciplines across the Cardiff and London offices in the latest round of New Year promotions.

The new partner promotions which recognise contribution to the ongoing success and growth of the firm, came into effect from 1st January, bringing total number of partners at the firm to 64.

Senior Associates promoted to Partner include:

  • Aysha Chouhdary – Family, Cardiff
  • Bethan Walsh – Charity & Third Sector, Cardiff
  • Salise Dourmoush – Education, London

Cardiff’s Family team welcomes the promotion of Aysha Chouhdary to Partner. One of the few family lawyers in the UK offering advice on religious, cultural and international jurisdiction issues particularly Shariah Law and Islamic Rulings, Aysha was instrumental in establishing a new Shariah Family law service for the firm last year, which has been exceptionally well-received by clients. She has won numerous awards and accolades over her career for her contribution to Family Law.

Bethan Walsh, Head of the Charities team in Cardiff has also been promoted to Partner. A leading expert in Charity Law, Bethan is a fluent Welsh speaker, often advising local charities on governance and contractual issues in Welsh. A charity trustee herself, she understands the real world issues facing not for profit organisations and plays an extremely active role supporting a wide range of local communities in the third sector.

Whilst the firm’s Education team is boosted with the promotion to Partner of SEN Education Law specialist Salise Dourmoush. Salise is a trailblazer in the SEN community, establishing the well-regarded SEN Talks podcast, working closely with specialist schools and SEN organisations to demystify SEND tribunal processes. She has supported numerous parents of SEN children helping them to obtain the best possible educational outcome for their future.

Geldards also announced further promotions across the firm.

Four Associates have been promoted to Senior Associate:

  • Sam Mason – Family,  East Midlands
  • Hannah Jean – Private Client, Cardiff
  • Stewart Knights – Corporate, Cardiff
  • Martinique Richards – Property, Cardiff
