Funding Leads to Improved Events Infrastructure Across Denbighshire

A number of projects have been completed in Denbighshire to support communities to host more sustainable and cost-effective events in their local areas.

The following projects have been successfully completed as the result of £128,000 worth of funding allocated to communities to complete much needed improvements to existing venues to help support events infrastructure in the county:

  • Installation of a stair lift and defibrillator at Neuadd Eleanor Village Hall.
  • New chairs, kitchen equipment and internal and external signage at Pentredwr Community Centre.
  • Electrical improvements at the clock tower and the Old Court House in Ruthin.
  • Sound, lighting and storage improvements at Y Ganolfan, Llandrillo.
  • Better broadband access at Owain Glyndwr Memorial Hall.
  • Improvements to stairs and kitchen facilities as well as installation of a new screen and projector at Llandyrnog Village Hall.
  • Upgrade to the kitchen at Carrog Hall.
  • Improvements to Rhuddlan Town Council facilities, including electrical improvements to the Parliament Street car park and Community Centre, installation of a hearing loop at the Community Centre and the purchase of gazebos and storage for equipment.
  • Electricity installation at Llangollen Bandstand.

All projects have been supported by Denbighshire Council’s Community Development Team which has been on hand to offer guidance, facilitation and act as liaison with internal departments as required.  Further projects are expected to be completed by November 2023.

Councillor Rhys Thomas, Lead Member for Housing and Communities said:

“This has been a fantastic opportunity for community groups and event organisers to improve facilities across the county. Many of these locations are a crucial hub for community engagement and events and we’re pleased to see the funding has led to improved infrastructure in Denbighshire and we look forward to bringing the remaining projects in receipt of funding into fruition soon.”
