Event: What is a SMART Town?

Throughout February & March we’ve been challenging businesses across Powys to ‘think SMART’ with their online presence and digital offering. We’ve been supporting businesses to improve their digital presence and maximise their online offering.

Now, it’s time to learn about what a ‘SMART’ town actually is.

In this session we’ll be introducing the SMART town concept and explore how it can be used towards regenerating town centres, understanding local visitors' behaviours within the town and how to use this information to increase business profits.

These systems are a great asset to our towns and businesses. The data taken from town centre Wi-Fi can greatly improve your marketing activities and drive sales. So, lets harness this information and make the most of the data available, right here in Mid Wales!

What will the event cover?

In this session we’ll be exploring:

  • How town centre Wi-Fi data and footfall counters can be used to plan business & marketing activities effectively
  • The LoraWAN systems that make SMART towns possible by exploring what they can monitor and what benefits they bring to each business type
  • The further 1-2-1 support available to you should you wish to explore utilising SMART technology for your business.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for local business owners in the Powys region interested in learning more about SMART town technologies and how they can be utilised to benefit the business. It’s a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to learn more about SMART town technologies and their positive impact in local town centres.

What is the Powys Digital Support Programme?

This series is brought to you by the Powys Digital Towns Business Support Programme. This is a fully-funded initiative to support businesses across Powys to enhance their digital offering and utilise new SMART technology that is being launched across the region.

So, if you’re a business owner in Powys and you want to take advantage of the support available, come along to one of the fantastic workshops on offer. We’re also offering 1-2-1 mentoring where you gain expert support tailored specifically to your business needs. Get in touch to find out more!

The Powys Digital Support Programme is part funded by Powys Council through the Welsh Government.
