Tell me about yourself and career to date?

Spotted history, ten years in hospitality after university, followed by nearly ten years in finance recruitment and now 7 years with CIMA, a very rewarding role, nurturing and encouraging future and spreading the “gospel” of CIMA as far and as wide as I can.

Can you give me an overview of your company and what you do?

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants® (CIMA), founded in 1919, is the world’s leading and largest professional body of management accountants. We help individuals and businesses to succeed by harnessing the full power of management accounting – not just accounting for the balance sheet, but accounting for business.

What has been the biggest challenge the company has faced and how have you responded?

The biggest challenge we have faced in recent years has been the impact of lockdown and how we were able to pivot our exam delivery within 2 months to ensure that despite all the other challenges our students faced in covid, they could rest assured that their CIMA exams would be keeping them challenged as well

How do you feel the Welsh economy will fare over the next 12 months?

Very confident that the Welsh economy is geared towards niche and growth industries that will see the region flourish

What plans do you have for your business in 2022?

Developing the next generation of finance qualifications, with world leading syllabus content, assessment methods and learning pathways. This will enable to the next generation of accountants to learn their trade in the way they know best.

Why did you choose to sponsor the Finance Awards Wales 2022?

They have highlighted the successes in Wales both within organisations and across the wider community, something that previously would have only been noticed by a few.

If you have sponsored the awards previously what were your highlights from last years ceremony?

Being able to see each other in person and celebrating success!!
