Nextgenaccess, a UK wholesale provider of full fibre broadband infrastructure today announced a new carrier agreement with SSE Enterprise Telecoms.
SSE Enterprise Telecoms has ordered a new fibre route in order to connect its 12,000km UK-wide network to the NGD (Next Generation Data) data centre in Wales. This follows an increase in demand for high capacity services to the data centre and the rest of the UK.
SSE Enterprise Telecoms specialises in providing high capacity, long distant fibre, Optical and Ethernet services and Nextgenaccess’ new 60km fibre route nearing completion between Bristol (Bradley Stoke) and the NGD data centre near Newport, South Wales was the perfect solution.

Meeting the ultrafast broadband requirements of underserved businesses and the public sector, Nextgenaccess specialises in high speed connectivity and bespoke fibre. It is licensed to use Openreach infrastructure to deploy fibre networks under Duct and Pole Access (DPA) / Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) and can also use Access To Infrastructure (ATI) legislation for access to other infrastructure including canal ducts or utility infrastructure. Where existing infrastructure is insufficient, Nextgenaccess’ Code Powers also allows it to carry out its own civils works.
Nextgenaccess is a privately owned company and secured £22 million of investment from the National Digital Infrastructure Fund in 2018. Nextgenacccess has successfully built an independent network across the UK with over 100 Points of Presence in ten different local authority areas, whereby small businesses in otherwise underserved areas can connect directly to wholesale fibre-to-the-premise broadband at speeds of up to 10Gbps.
