Swansea based Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has made a strong recovery from the lockdown with the appointment of three new members of staff.
The addition of Tanya Absalom, Christopher Mason and Mark Jones takes the MAB team up to 14 members of staff in total; quite an achievement for owners David Lewis and Richard Hullin who opened the business in 2015.
“We've grown rapidly over the last five years,” said director Richard Hullin, “however, this year has been unreal. Everything pretty much stopped at the start of the lockdown in March, but since the property market started up again, the volume of enquiries we're dealing with has been phenomenal.”
As part of the UK's most recognised mortgage intermediary brand, Richard and David cover Swansea and West Wales from their Kingsway offices in the city centre and work with a wide range of clients.
From first time buyers to landlords to those looking to re-mortgage; they offer a comprehensive mortgage service, and the recent spike in business levels has seen a full return of their staff.
“Our furloughed staff are all back in the business,” said Richard, “and after a considerable redevelopment of our offices during the lockdown, we now have an extra floor to accommodate new staff in a socially distanced and safe environment.”
While the post-lockdown recovery in the mortgage market has been strong, both Richard and David are acutely aware that the local fire-break will hamper the ability for people to visit their offices; however, they have a tested strategy in place that's ready to roll out.
“When we initially closed our offices in March, we still had active clients who were mid-way through an application; however, by adapting our processes, we were able to complete applications remotely.”
