A free virtual forum from #5GWalesUnlocked on 16 March is set to explore how 5G can improve connectivity and transform rural communities.
Technology is transforming network infrastructure, meanwhile changes to the way we live and work have been accelerated by the pandemic. Welsh Government, lead delivery partner of 5G Wales Unlocked.
‘How can Wales unlock the 5G opportunity?’ will cover areas such as digital infrastructure innovation and emerging business models for connectivity, among others, and feature industry stakeholders and thought leaders considering the roadmap and opportunities for rural and advanced connectivity in Wales.
The forum, which takes place from 9am to 1.30pm, will include guest speakers such as Disruptive Analysis Dean Bubley and Professor Tom Crick from National Infrastructure Committee for Wales, as well as experts from Ofcom, Cisco, Mobile UK and more.
The agenda will feature an address by the Welsh Government’s Deputy Minister for Climate Change; discussion about the challenges and opportunities for Welsh connectivity and digital infrastructure; a look at supply-side transformation; new models; and a closing address from a UK Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Minister; a roundtable; networking; and more.
