Cardiff Consultancy Named Among The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024

An environmental consultancy has been named amongst the Best Medium-sized Organisations in the UK in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 list.

Cardiff-based Tyler Grange is a B Corp and operates a four-day week. The Penhill Road-based consultancy’s listing highlights its culture and the significant ongoing investment made by the firm to attract, retain and reward the very best talent.

Also celebrated is the four-day week it operates – with no loss of salary or benefits – as well as its in-house clinical psychologist, resilience consultant, mindfulness coach and mentors, and the cost of counselling sessions is also covered by the firm. Employees volunteer for causes close to their hearts on many of their Fridays off.

The Best Places to Work list is compiled from responses to survey questions developed by behavioural scientists, data analysts, psychologists, business leaders, academics, and other independent parties, to monitor employee engagement, wellbeing and discretionary effort most accurately.

To be successfully accredited as a Best Place to Work, organisations must achieve a minimum 70% overall engagement score and universally achieve high marks on attributes including inclusivity, sustainability, and retention.

Lord Mark Price, founder of employee engagement specialists WorkL which powers the Best Places to Work survey and analysis, said:

“Those companies that perform best in The Sunday Times list have lower staff turnover, lower sick absences and higher levels of productivity. It’s also good for Great Britain PLC. We see clear links between productivity and companies that are doing this well. The better a business does, the more tax it’s going to pay and the more we can invest in UK services. What we know in the UK is that productivity has been one of our great challenges.”

Jon Berry, Managing Director of Tyler Grange, said:

“We’ve always recognised that our culture provides our ultimate competitive advantage and that our people are our greatest asset. It’s why we’re so committed to providing the best and most enjoyable environment to work and grow and, as a result, we’re able to offer our clients the very highest service levels.

“And crucially, as a business, we’re also reaping the rewards. Our own data shines a light on us being a great employer, but to have it formally recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 is absolutely brilliant. We’re all delighted.”

Medium Organisations to feature within the list must have between 50 and 249 employees.

Tyler Grange Cardiff is a member of the Better Business Network and supports the Better Business Act – both of which promote a cleaner, greener, fairer future for all. As well as Cardiff, it has six other UK offices located in London, Manchester, Bristol, Exeter, Birmingham and Cirencester, in the Cotswolds.
