Neath Port Talbot and AI Take Centre Stage in Business News Wales Relaunch

By Business News Wales · 26 Oct 2026 · 3 min read

Business News Wales has unveiled a new website and mobile experience as part of a major transformation of its publishing model, with Neath Port Talbot and AI, Tech and Innovation initially taking centre stage in the first phase of an ambitious expansion of regional and sector-specific business journalism across Wales.

The relaunch marks the beginning of a significant new chapter for the national business news publisher, combining a substantially enhanced digital platform with a new editorial model designed to bring businesses, industry leaders, government and regional stakeholders closer together.

Readers will immediately benefit from a redesigned website, improved navigation and a significantly enhanced mobile experience, making it easier to discover and engage with business news, industry insight and expert commentary.

Behind the new design sits a sophisticated technology infrastructure developed to support the expansion of the platform, allowing Business News Wales to introduce new editorial sections, features and functionality as its publishing operations continue to grow.

However, the most significant changes extend beyond the technology, with the publisher fundamentally reshaping the way it develops its news agenda through a growing network of dedicated regional and industry editorial advisory boards.

The first two sections to take centre stage are Neath Port Talbot and AI, Tech and Innovation, both of which will begin delivering expanded editorial programmes from Monday 9 November 2026, including weekly features, specialist columnists and regular newsletters.

In the same week sections and editroal boards for the skills and Housing sector will launch, followed the week after by defence and manufacturing sections.

Further regional and sector-specific sections will be introduced as part of a phased rollout, significantly expanding the publisher’s coverage and creating dedicated news destinations for individual industries and regional economies.

More than 150 individuals from across 16 different sectors and regions are being brought together as part of the wider programme, creating a substantial network of expertise to support a more connected approach to business journalism.

Mark Powney, Managing Director of Business News Wales, said:

“The launch of our new website significant editorial expansion is a significant undertaking, but it is only the first visible part of a much bigger transformation taking place across Business News Wales.

“We have invested in a significantly improved experience for readers, particularly on mobile, and developed the technology needed to support a much larger and more sophisticated publishing platform.

“But the real transformation is in our business and editorial model. We are moving towards a structure that combines the reach of a national publisher with dedicated regional and industry news platforms, each supported by people with genuine knowledge and experience of the areas we cover.

“Neath Port Talbot and AI, Tech and Innovation are the first examples of this approach, and from 9 November readers will begin to see a much richer programme of features, specialist columnists and regular newsletters.

“These are two very different areas of the Welsh economy, but they demonstrate how we can bring together industry insight, business journalism and regional expertise to create something much more valuable for our audiences.”

The new approach is designed to strengthen the connection between business journalism and economic decision-making, creating opportunities for greater dialogue between businesses, industry organisations, policymakers and government.

The new Business News Wales website is now live at www.businessnewswales.com, with expanded coverage of Neath Port Talbot and AI, Tech and Innovation beginning on 9 November, followed by further announcements introducing new sections, editorial advisory boards and digital publishing initiatives.
