Azets Pledge Support for Faith in Families

Teams from Azets in Cardiff and Swansea have pledged their support for the charity Faith in Families, with one colleague recently returning from Africa following a 100km trek for the charity.

Faith in Families is a Swansea-based charity with over 25 years of experience supporting families in need. Helping over 106,000 people so far, the charity distributes essential items like clothing and hygiene products. The charity’s holistic approach ensures that those struggling with poverty receive emotional, social, and practical support, empowering them to build brighter futures.

Azets teams in Cardiff and Swansea pledged their support for Faith in Families earlier this year, and so far, have donated hundreds of toiletries, as well as selling homemade chilli chutney and Christmas hampers in aid of the cause. Most recently, Jo Carr, Senior Manager at Azets in Swansea returned from a gruelling 100km trek through the southern Moroccan Sahara, raising over £3,400.

Cherrie Bija, CEO at Faith in Families said:

“When our communities unite to confront child poverty, we embody courage and strength, recognising that poverty cannot be ignored. Incredible people like Jo, our fundraising champion, demonstrate that there is no place for child poverty in our world. The team at Azets have supported us by walking across hot deserts and organising various events and challenges. We cannot do it alone; we must come together. Together, we can push poverty away and create a future where every child not only survives but thrives and flourishes. These vital funds will enable us to work directly with children in our communities, helping them through the trauma of poverty and showing them that we care and that they matter.”

Jo Carr, Senior Audit Manager at Azets commented:

“We pledged our support to the Faith in Families charity in recognition of the incredible work they do for children and families in our local community. It was an incredible experience to have been part of the trek, to tackle the varying terrains of the desert and even the wild camping! The whole team and wider community have rallied together to raise this incredible amount and we have lots of upcoming events to continue our support in the future. As a company, we encourage our people to connect with local communities and this fundraising effort showcases our commitment to supporting those around us.”

Upcoming fundraising events run by Azets in aid of Faith in Families include the annual quiz night for local advisors in Swansea, which will be held on 27th March and hopes to raise a further £2,500.

Azets in Swansea offers a full-service capability, including commercial audit, corporate tax compliance, private client tax, technical accounting, corporate finance, forensics, restructuring & general business advisory. The office currently employs 40 people at Ty Caer Wyr House.
