Wrexham Inn Awarded in National Pub & Bar Awards 2019

The West Arms, owned and run by husband and wife team Nicky and Mark Williamson, has been crowned Best Pub in Wrexham in the National Pub & Bar Awards 2019.

Mark Williamson, owner of The West Arms said:

“This is our first award since buying the hotel in 2018 so we are naturally thrilled.  The accolade demonstrates the continued passion of the team to create a warming and truly Welsh experience for our guests.

“Our aim is to continue putting Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog on the map as a key destination for a friendly drink or an extended stay in the Wrexham area.”

With its roaring fires and selection of delicious local ales The 16th Century West Arms, originally a Drover’s Inn, has been welcoming in locals and travellers in the unspoiled village of Llanarmon DC for centuries.

The charming Country Inn Hotel and Pub offers sixteen characterful bedrooms and a Good Food Guide acclaimed restaurant run by award winning chef Grant Williams.

Having undergone a full refurbishment in 2018 The West Arms has recently joined Great Inns of Britain and has a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The National Pub & Bar Awards aims to put the finest on-trade businesses across the UK in the spotlight.

The winning pubs, which have been selected on overall best practice across a number of operational categories, will be officially crowned in London on 22 May 2019. The grand final, hosted by restaurant critic Jay Rayner, will see 15 Regional Winners announced, as well as the esteemed accolade – the overall National Pub & Bar of the Year.
