Savills Adds Further Weight to its Cardiff Planning Team with Four New Hires

Anisha Ahmed, Cerys Hulbert-Scott, Annabelle Miller and James Hansel join Savills Cardiff

Real estate advisers Savills has appointed four new planners to its Cardiff-based team, further strengthening its position as one of the largest planning consultancy teams in Wales.

Cerys Hulbert-Scott joins the team as an associate from Stantec UK. Cerys has more than eight years of planning experience across a number of sectors, including large scale commercial, mixed use development and energy and infrastructure.

James Hansel, previously a principal planner in the Strategic Applications team at Cardiff Council, has been appointed to the team as an associate. James has extensive experience of managing major planning applications, including complex, high-density city centre projects in Cardiff.

Annabelle Miller joins as a senior planner from Boyer, bringing over five years’ experience with a strong focus on strategic land promotion and housing development. She also has a proven track record of managing and co-ordinating a portfolio of application for national chains in Wales and England.

Anisha Ahmed is a recent graduate from Cardiff University and will continue her studies part-time alongside her new role as a graduate planner in the team. Anisha previously interned with Savills and in her new role will support the team on various planning projects, across all sectors.

These new additions bring the Savills Cardiff planning team to 18 members of staff – solidifying its status as one of the largest and most active in Wales. Together, the team’s expertise spans a number of sectors, including housing and mixed use, data centres, commercial, leisure, education, regeneration, public sector and energy and infrastructure projects.

Laura Williams, director and head of Cardiff Planning, comments:

‘I am delighted to welcome Cerys, James, Annabelle and Anisha to the team. The additional experience and expertise that they bring will further enhance our capacity to deliver exceptional results for our clients across Wales.

‘We have a fantastic pipeline of projects lined up for 2025 and beyond, with notable growth in energy and infrastructure and data centre instructions across both planning, EIA and economics service lines. We continue to collaborate with the wider Savills business, in Cardiff and nationally, to deliver commercial planning and development solutions for a range of clients.’
