Pontypool Building Supplier Achieves Environmental Accreditations

A Pontypool based manufacturer of prefabricated building products for the UK house building sector has been awarded the ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard and ISO 14001 Environmental Standard in recognition of their excellence of both their management systems and environmental management.

Working with RISG Solutions, the senior management team at Brickfab underwent an extensive company-wide audit that included quality management system development, a management system documentation review, pre-audit and an initial assessment.  Additionally, the certification process required examining and documenting all processes and making sure, through internal audits, that processes and systems are predictable and consistent.

Mark Cox, Technical Sales Manager said,

“It has been a thorough external assessment. Everyone involved has invested a lot of time and effort into achieving these accreditations. At a time when environmental responsibilities have been prioritised by many of the house builders we work with throughout the UK, we are particularly pleased that our commitment to adhering to the professional standards set by ISO 14001 has been recognised. For example, in our Pontypool and Stoke on Trent factories we are now recycling over 95% of the water used by our brick cutting machinery after installing water treatment plants in both locations, and an extensive array of solar panels at our Pontypool site.”

Commenting on their commitment to achieving both ISO accreditations, Adrian Brain, lead consultant at RISG Solutions said,

“It has been a pleasure to work with such a professional and forward-looking company. Lots of business talk about their concern for the environment, Brickfab has proved that they take it seriously.”

Mark Cox continued,

“Brickfab are delighted to achieve this certification at the end of a year that started with so much uncertainty for everyone. We have successfully bounced back and are already looking forward to 2022 with above average orders already placed and plans to launch a new product range and expand our Pontypool manufacturing base.”
