Peter Lynn and Partners Solicitors are pleased to announce that they are donating £1,000 to Matthew’s House, a Swansea-based Project (an initiative of the Hill Church Charity) that helps people struggling with homelessness in the city.

Based on High Street, Matthew’s House has been helping vulnerable people including those struggling with homelessness in the city for over 5 years, providing much-needed support and facilities to those in need.

The charity also runs Matt's Café, a community hub offering hot meals on a pay-as-you-feel basis. Their other expressions of giving “Hope” include a community choir, 1-2-1 advocacy support, dignity packs and Matt’s showers and laundry for those who may not have anywhere else to turn, and in addition to these basic necessities, Matthew’s House offers support and guidance to anyone who enters their doors.

“We are extremely grateful for the generous donation from Peter Lynn and Partners,” said Thom Lynch, Project Manager of Matthew's House. “This will go a long way in helping us to continue the vital work that we do in supporting people who are extremely vulnerable in Swansea. With the help of donations like this, we can continue to provide a safe and welcoming place for those in need, in particular those struggling with homelessness and offer them the support they require to move in the right direction in their difficult moments.”

In addition to its work at the café, Matthew's House also hosts a number of other support services at the premises to help individuals in the Swansea area. These include professionals that work directly with those facing homelessness, rough sleeping, benefits issues and mental health challenges. They have also launched an app called Hope in Swansea, a free-to-download, easy to use app that is a sign-posting service that shared the details of over 140+ other support organisations in the city.

“Homelessness is a pressing issue in Swansea, especially at this time of year,” said Peter Lynn, “and we believe that everyone deserves a chance at a better life. Matthew's House provides a vital service to those who may not have anywhere else to turn, and we are thrilled to be able to contribute to their efforts.”

Alongside the financial contribution, Matthew's House has been chosen as one of the Charities of the Year for 2023 for Peter Lynn and Partners Solicitors. The firm has a long history of supporting local charities and non-profit organisations, and this latest partnership is a testament to its commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

“We are honoured to have been selected as a Charity of the Year by Peter Lynn and Partners,” reflected Thom. “This partnership will allow us to continue the vital work that we do in helping people in many ways across Swansea, and we are grateful for the support and generosity of the team at Peter Lynn and Partners.”
