Over the past two years around 100 women with a breast cancer diagnosis were cared for by City Hospice. Cardiff’s local hospice provide care for 100 new patients every month and around 3,100 people visited their centre, Ty Hosbis and utilised services throughout the last year.

City Hospice need to raise £2m a year to continue providing the level of care they offer and are the only at-home palliative care provider in Cardiff. Therefore, Park Plaza Cardiff aim to not only raise valuable funds for City Hospice but also to raise awareness of breast cancer and the work the hospice does.

Liz Andrews, Chief Executive at City Hospice, said: “We’re thrilled to have teamed up with Park Plaza Cardiff, we work closely with people who have cancer so to be able to raise awareness and crucial funds throughout breast cancer awareness month is great.

“We’re very grateful for the support from Park Plaza and the money raised will help us to continue our work with patients across Cardiff.”

Margaret Waters, General Manager at Park Plaza Cardiff said:

“The work City Hospice does is incredibly important and with a number of their patients having received breast cancer diagnoses we feel really excited to be able to raise money for them.

“Our afternoon teas are very popular with our clients, so we felt this was the best way to help City Hospice continue to support those with life-limiting illnesses either in their own home or in the hospice.
