A fast-growing North Wales-based security firm is celebrating achieving a prestigious business certification.

Wrexham-based Parallel Security has secured ISO 9001, the quality management accreditation.

The latest achievement follows the company’s success in gaining the Security Industry Authority’s prestigious Approved Contractor Status.

Parallel Security was set up by Managing Director Francis Johnson in 2014 and employs over 100 full and part-time staff.

The firm provides security services for some of the UK’s highest profile events as well as static security for the likes of construction sites and schools. Door security and cleaning services make up the rest of the company’s activities.

During 2019, the company increased the number of events and festivals it worked with from a handful to over 50.

Francis, 31, said:

“We have worked extremely hard to ensure that we have got the best possible quality management systems in place.

“To achieve ISO 9001 and the SIA Approved Contractor Status in the space of a few weeks is a considerable achievement.

“We are growing rapidly and having the best possible policies and procedures in place are essential if we are to continue to meet our business objectives over the next couple of years.”

Among the company’s growth plans are to launch its own training division to train security personnel in best practice as well as increasing the amount of customers it has in Europe and internationally.

The company’s success has been recognised by the Welsh Government which has included Parallel Security on its Accelerated Growth Programme (AGP) aimed at helping some of the country’s most promising businesses achieve their maximum potential.
