New Productivity Challenge Launches to Support Welsh Manufacturers

productivity

A new initiative aimed at unlocking hidden productivity gains across Wales’ manufacturing sector has been launched by POET Systems, the team behind the award-winning operational excellence software trusted by manufacturers nationwide.

The POET Manufacturing Productivity Challenge offers businesses a free, one-on-one test analysis with the POET team to assess whether measurable productivity improvements can be achieved using their visual management dashboards.

POET – short for Process Operational Excellence Transformation – has built a strong reputation for helping manufacturers replace time-consuming spreadsheets with a streamlined, real-time reporting system that highlights high-impact operational opportunities. Its visual dashboards, built around OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) principles, are designed to be intuitive, accessible, and instantly actionable for everyone from shop floor operators to boardroom leaders.

This new challenge represents a bold step by the company to prove the value of its platform in real terms by directly engaging manufacturers in a no-obligation pilot analysis, providing tailored insight on where productivity gains may be hiding within their current operations.

What the Challenge Involves

The POET Productivity Challenge is open to manufacturers of all sizes and sectors across Wales. Participating companies will receive:

  • A free one-on-one consultation with POET Systems experts
  • A diagnostic review of existing production performance
  • A personalised dashboard preview highlighting potential savings and performance gaps
  • Insight into how POET’s software could automate reporting and drive continuous improvement

The initiative is designed to demonstrate tangible ROI, helping firms identify real-world savings through improved machine availability, faster changeovers, reduced downtime, and better data-driven decision-making.

Commenting on the launch of the initiative, Philip Roberts, Managing Director of POET Systems, said:

“We’re issuing a direct challenge to Welsh manufacturers: give us the opportunity to test your productivity, and let’s see together if we can find untapped savings. Whether you’re a small workshop or a major production facility, the chances are you’re sitting on improvement opportunities that are being missed. Our dashboards make it simple to identify them quickly, with no guesswork or time wasted on spreadsheets.

“This isn’t just about software – it’s about sparking a mindset shift across the industry. We’re proud to be supporting Welsh manufacturing to become more agile, competitive, and efficient – and this challenge is the first step.”

With global supply chain pressures and cost efficiencies now critical to staying competitive, the POET Manufacturing Productivity Challenge is expected to attract strong interest from firms looking to build resilience and performance into their operations.

Manufacturers interested in taking part in the challenge can register their interest via the POET Systems website.
