Fast becoming an unmissable highlight of the UK new music calendar, Cardiff's Sŵn Festival today announces the second batch of names for its 2022 edition, taking place across the Welsh capital from October 21st to 23rd.
Local Welsh acts joining the line-up include Greta Isaac, Sŵnami, Omaloma, CVC and Kiddus. They join the already stellar programme, which includes hometown heroes Panic Shack, who will play the opening night on Friday, Oct 21st at the 1000-capacity Tramshed.
Joined by BC Camplight – who return to Cardiff for their biggest headline show to date in the Welsh capital – alongside Brighton quartet Lime Garden, and transatlantic alt-rock duo Prima Queen, it promises to be a rapturous start to proceedings.

“This year’s line-up is exquisite with so many class bands coming to Cardiff! The first show we did at Sŵn 2019 was our third-ever gig and one of our highlights as a band. It feels good that we can look back on that and now play a show at Tramshed!”
Fellow Welsh acts to join the line-up include six-piece psych-rock band, CVC – who made a splash in 2019, selling out Clwb Ifor Bach before they’d even released an EP – Sŵnami, a Welsh language indie rock group from Dolgellau, north Wales, and Cardiff-born pop artist Greta Isaac who is best known for her explosive energy and razor-sharp lyrics.
Returning for the first time at full-scale since 2019, the tastemaker festival presents a perfect mix of established and upcoming artists for a celebration of the diverse, exciting nature of British music and beyond. Following Cardiff also hosting this year's BBC 6Music Festival, it serves as a further cap on what's been a remarkable year for Welsh music.
Taking place across the Welsh capital, venues for this year's event includes ten stages across seven locations, including: Clwb Ifor Bach (two stages), Fuel Rock Club, Jacobs Market (three stages), The Moon, O'Neills, Tiny Rebel, Tramshed (Friday-only).
Speaking of the latest additions for this year's festival, Clwb Ifor Bach and Sŵn Festival live manager Adam Williams says:
“We’re incredibly excited with the second wave of acts that we’re announcing for Sŵn this year. We had the privilege of hosting Sorry here earlier this year, and we’re delighted to have the chance to host them again. Joe & the Shitboys caused chaos at Green Man Festival this year; seeing them do the same in a smaller space is going to be a whole lot of fun.
“We strengthen the local line up with our second wave too, with CVC who have had a huge summer playing Reading & Leeds, The Great Escape, Truck Festival and tons more, Sŵnami who are on the verge of releasing their highly anticipated second album and Greta Isaac, whose latest string of singles and EP has proved that she’s one of pop’s most innovative Welsh artists today.
“In addition to our usual Womanby Street venues family, we welcome O’Neills, Tramshed and Jacobs (who will be hosting three stages this year) back to the festival.”
Adding to the jam-packed line-up, today’s announcement also included Lancaster duo The Lovely Eggs, whose latest album, I Am Moron, went to #1 on the UK Independent Album Chart, and New Zealand-raised indie-pop powerhouse Molly Payton, fresh from a string of festival appearances and tour with Beabadoobee.
For those seeking pulsing electronics, Glasgow's VLURE are not to be missed. While for those in the mood for a bit of Scandi goodness, look no further than Joe & the Shitboys.
Other acts announced today, that are set to get new music pulses racing, include: Sorry, The Umlauts, Sea Power, Los Bitchos, Grove, Billy Nomates, BODEGA, Connie Constance, Lunch Money Life, and Murkage Dave.
