Halen Môn, the Anglesey Sea Salt company, has created a new seasoning in support of food education non-profit Cegin Y Bobl.
Designed to be a seasoning that anyone can use to elevate their cooking, regardless of their kitchen experience – pawb is Welsh for ‘everyone’ – the seasoning will be given free of charge to the people taking part in Cegin Y Bobl’s food education and cookery programmes.
Halen Môn is also donating ten percent from the proceeds of the product’s sales this year to Cegin Y Bobl to support its work.
Cegin Y Bobl – ‘the people’s kitchen’ in Welsh – runs immersive food education, literacy and leadership workshops for schools, individuals and community groups through practical training led by chefs and people from across the hospitality industry.
Cegin y Bobl delivers numerous programmes, including its flagship Food Discovery course for school children, which has proven results to increase food curiosity, confidence, and better eating habits at home. Its Food Leadership programme trains teachers and community leaders in sustainable food education with lasting legacy, and the Family Cook Club enables participants to prepare and share delicious, nutritious and affordable meals together, fostering social connection and food access. All programmes are led by chefs.

The new Pawb seasoning, which is a blend of Halen Môn Pure Sea Salt PDO, toasted cumin and coriander, smoked paprika and oregano, has been designed to sit alongside Halen Môn’s Popeth – ‘everything' – seasoning, based on the popular American ‘everything’ bagel seasoning.
Jess Lea-Wilson, brand director at Halen Môn, said:
“Working with Cegin Y Bobl, we’ve created a product designed to help people to discover a love for cooking, food and flavour, It’s a ready-to-use mix of a tried and tested combination of herbs and spices that will make it easy to take what’s been learned on a Cegin Y Bobl course and replicate it at home.
“For everyone else, it’s an everyday shortcut to amp up everyday meals like a chillI or Bolognese, or elevate simple roasted vegetables, soups or stews. And every jar sold is helping to expand the reach and impact of Cegin Y Bobl’s work.”
Simon Wright, co-founder of Cegin Y Bobl, said:
“We know that there are strong links between food, health and mental health, and what we eat affects so many aspects of our lives and our society. We founded Cegin y Bobl on the belief that food has a transformative power to unite people, strengthen communities, and empower individuals.
“We work with a brilliant network of cooks and teachers and it’s great to be adding Welsh producers to that list, all helping us in our mission to offer opportunities for people of all ages to develop essential skills, create healthy food, and build connections. Let’s get the nation cooking!”
