Financial Planning Firm Plays Key Role in Month-Long National Alzheimer’s Fundraising Relay

An 11-person team from the Pontyclun office of financial planning business Finli Group completed a 6.2-mile walk from Castle Coch to Cathedral Road in support of Alzheimer's Society, contributing 68.2 miles to the nation-wide fundraising relay.

The team of 11 from Wales joins nearly 500 Finli colleagues who are taking part in sponsored activities to collectively cover the 1,550 miles from Orkney – Finli's northernmost office – to its office in Arundel in the south of England. Colleagues will be walking, running, and cycling to achieve the mile target.

The Finli Group, which has offices across the UK, has pledged to make a donation to two Alzheimer’s charities – Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland – for every referral it receives and has kicked off its relay fundraiser with a £10,000 donation generated from just two months’ worth of referrals.

The firm expects to have completed all 1,550 miles by the end of June, a target it is already on track to surpass.

Finli Group’s Chief Executive Andy Thompson said:

“As a financial planning firm, our purpose is to help people live their best financial life. And as a growing national business, we believe in sharing that success in a way that supports the communities around us.

“Dementia affects nearly one million people across the UK, with many more families and carers supporting loved ones every day. It is a condition that touches countless lives, often bringing emotional, practical and financial challenges.

“Through the relay, and alongside our referral scheme, we hope to make a difference to these worthy causes.”
