Deadline Approaches for Welsh Start-Ups to Apply for NatWest Pre-Accelerator Programme

Welsh start-ups wanting to power up their businesses are being encouraged to apply to take part in NatWest’s Pre-Accelerator programme.

Applications close on January 11, but there are still spaces available.

The fully funded, eight-week online programme offers early start-up entrepreneurs lots of exciting opportunities including digital workshops and specialist webinars. With access to events at the bank’s Entrepreneur Accelerator in Cardiff too, led by NatWest’s Business Growth Enablers, the programme helps entrepreneurs to start, scale and succeed with their businesses.

Jackie Van Baren, who runs virtual PA agency JVB Connect, completed the programme in autumn 2018 to test out an idea for a new business around a flexible workspace with childcare.

The mother-of-two, who lives in Pontypridd, said:

“I really enjoyed taking part in the Pre-Accelerator programme and found it so valuable. The online content was comprehensive and easy to engage with, and gave me the structure and discipline to focus on my new business idea. Working through the modules prompted me to question different elements of my concept and test the strength of the overall idea – and to consider when will be the right time for me to move it forward.”

Andrew Jones, NatWest’s Entrepreneur Acceleration Manager in Cardiff, said:

“Our Pre-Accelerator programme is a must for start-ups looking to reach the next level. It’s about empowering your business and pushing you to reach your potential. We help start-ups succeed and don’t take any equity in their company in doing so. You don’t even need to bank with NatWest. The programme is free and ready to take your business further and faster.”
