Call for Welsh Food & Drink Producers to Enter National Awards

Only 2 weeks are remaining to enter the Wales Food & Drink Awards 2024.

This national event honours the food and drink producers of Wales and recognises the hard work, innovation and sustainability practices being put in place throughout the industry. There are 17 categories to choose from that suit a wide variety of passionate businesses and individuals. We want to hear from the advocates of the Welsh Food & Drink industry!

The deadline for entries is 23rd February 2024, with winners being announced at a black-tie awards ceremony taking place in Brangwyn Hall, Swansea on 9th May 2024. This is the third year of the awards taking place and we are once again thrilled to be welcoming producers, investors and experts of the Food & Drink industry.

The finalists of all categories will be invited to meet our panel of judges. The judges are looking for ambitious companies striving for success and proud of their Welsh roots. The panel of judges is chaired by Bob Clark of Itch Investors and includes; Maggie Ogunbanwo (Maggie’s: An African Twist to your Everyday Dish), Sarah Lewis (Lantra), Nerys Howell (Howel Food Consultancy), Robin Williams (Itch Investors), Katharine Shipley (Food Curious Food), Rhys Iley (Puffin Produce), Alison Lea-Wilson (Halen Mon), Giles Drewett (Itch Investors), Scott Davies (Hilltop Honey) David Llewellyn (Head Chef, Product Development at Co-op) Yash Dhutia (Ferraris Coffee)

Alison Lea-Wilson, Deputy Chair of the Food and Drink Wales Industry Board said:

“With only a few weeks to go, please consider entering the Wales Food and Drink Awards. As a judge, I’m looking forward to reading inspiring stories behind the fantastic food and drink that is produced in Wales.

“To win outright or to be Highly Commended is to be judged by your peers as outstanding which, as well as giving you public recognition, will also help in selling your products B2B and to the end customer.

“It’s also a great night out at the awards!”
