As part of a our new interview series, Emma Peterson, Director of Recruit121 and Finance Awards Wales, talks to a whole host of professionals in and around Wales’ thriving Finance Sector. This week Emma caught up with Karl Foster, Legal Director at Blake Morgan LLP.

Tell me about your business?

We're a full service commercial law firm based in Wales, the Thames Valley, London and the South Coast. We aim to deliver exemplary service to our clients and to make a positive difference to our clients’ businesses through our core values of teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Why did you choose to sponsor the Finance Awards Wales 2019?

A number of our clients and contacts in the finance sector have worked tremendously hard over the past year and we wanted to acknowledge this success and support them as they continue to grow. From a personal perspective, having worked in financial services for a number of years, the sector is one I know very well and it is great to recognise the success of the sector in Wales.

What impact do you feel the Awards have made in the Finance sector in Wales?

Recognising achievement and talent in the finance sector across Wales is important because it is a rapidly evolving sector, and a major contributor to the Welsh economy. The awards are a great opportunity for companies and individuals to reflect on their successes and look at how they can continue to grow and prosper in the future.

How do you feel the Welsh economy will fare over the next 12 months?

From speaking to our clients, we believe that although there is a level of uncertainty surrounding Brexit, the Welsh economy will continue to grow. We are optimistic about the future as there are a number of exciting opportunities out there, as well as excellent Welsh Government support for businesses with growth potential.

What plans do you have for your business in 2019?
