ABP Helps Spread Christmas Cheer in Wales


Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s leading and best-connected port operator, has supported the 2020 ‘Mr X Christmas Appeal’ by providing safe office space in its Swansea Harbour office to store this year’s presents. 

Founded more than 60 years ago, the ‘Mr X Christmas Appeal’ was set up with the goal of collecting and distributing presents for underprivileged children in South Wales, showing them Santa has not forgotten them. Since its launch, the Appeal has seen thousands of presents distributed by volunteers across Cardiff, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Carmarthenshire. 

Robert Gray, ABP Port Manager for Swansea and Port Talbot, said:

“This year has been a difficult one for many due to the pandemic and we are pleased that we have been able to step in and support the ‘Mr X Christmas Appeal’ and their worthy cause.

“Christmas is a time of the year for kindness and gratitude and it is fantastic that this charity will bring a smile to the faces of many children in challenging circumstances.”
