Law firm Blake Morgan has been reappointed to provide legal services to Social Care Wales.
Social Care Wales is the national body responsible for regulating and developing the social care and early years workforce in Wales, with more than 65,000 registered professionals across the country.
Social Care Wales’s remit encompasses setting professional standards, registering workers, supporting workforce development, and improving care and support services across Wales. Central to its work is overseeing fitness-to-practise processes, ensuring that concerns about conduct are investigated thoroughly and in the public interest, and maintaining public confidence in the social care sector.
This reappointment builds on a relationship that dates back to 2001, when Blake Morgan began supporting Social Care Wales's predecessor body, the Care Council for Wales. It follows a competitive tender process and reflects the firm's longstanding presence in Wales, where it has supported clients and communities for more than 150 years.
Delme Griffiths, Partner at Blake Morgan, said:
“We are proud to have supported Social Care Wales since its inception and to have been reappointed following a competitive process. Over the years, we have developed a genuine understanding of the organisation, its regulatory responsibilities and the vital role it plays in protecting the public and maintaining standards across the sector. We look forward to continuing to provide the clear, robust and responsive legal support that this important work demands.”
Hywel Dafydd, Assistant Director of Regulation at Social Care Wales, said:
“Blake Morgan has been a trusted and capable legal partner, and we are delighted to continue working with them. Following a rigorous tender process, we are confident they are the right team to support us as we carry out our mission to make a meaningful difference to social care and the early years workforce across Wales.”
