Sustainable Business Solutions in Mid Wales Minimising Emissions and Costs

In today’s audio feature, we hear from Dr Gemma Delafield, Regional Energy Officer for Growing Mid Wales, about the free event being held for Mid Wales Businesses on Friday 9th February at Bargoed Farm near Aberaeron who will experience a solution-focused discussion around the challenges around reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs.

With an aim to give Mid Wales businesses the opportunity to come together and talk about what they need for the future to minimise greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs, attendees will also get the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers including Net Zero Industry Wales, the Regional Skills Partnership, National Grid Electricity Distribution, National Grid Electricity Transmission and Scottish Power Energy Networks. Geraint Thomas will also share Bargoed Farm’s own decarbonisation journey and provide a tour around the site to see the farm’s solar PV, battery storage, electric vehicle charging points, biofuel generators and baling machine for on-site recycling.

Information stalls from training providers (e.g. Coleg Sir Gar, Cambrian Training, NPTC) and other organisations (e.g. Business Wales, Severn Wye Energy Agency) will be available to offer advice, listen to the needs of the businesses, and the challenges they currently face.
