TV and radio star, and leading Welsh tenor, Wynne Evans, is warming up his vocal cords to sing happy birthday to Swansea Bay Business Club at its flagship birthday lunch to mark its 70th year.

Wynne, who is known UK-wide as Mr Go Compare, and is Carmarthen born and bred, will join the special birthday celebration as Swansea Bay Business Club guest speaker, on Friday 5th July.

The gathering, at Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall, will mark 70 years of fruitful networking for the club, which has supported hundreds of businesses throughout the Swansea Bay region, by stimulating prosperity and by encouraging the business community to support each other and grow to achieve greater stability and success.

The Club’s Acting President, Alan Brayley, said:

“We are delighted that Wynne Evans has agreed to join us and bring some extra charisma to this celebratory flagship lunch, and we look forward to hearing him share anecdotes and insights into his own career in the entertainment world. As well as his work in the limelight, I know Wynne also runs a trust in memory of his late mother, Elizabeth Evans MBE, that sponsors young Welsh people who wish to study for a career in the performing arts. He is also an ambassador for St Johns Wales, The Teenage Cancer Trust and The British Heart Foundation, so there will be a lot to talk about.”

Swansea magician Phil Jay will also provide added entertainment at the event. Phil has been described by The Stage magazine as the UK’s Number One close-up magician.

Alan adds:

“This lunch will bring together long-standing members of the business club, a posse of former Club Presidents, and many, many members, who have benefitted from the support networks, the friendships and the networking opportunities offered to generations of businessmen and women over the decades. We are very proud of the Club’s achievements. It has been a pleasure to see it become the platinum business networking group in the Swansea Bay City Region, and to see so many of our member businesses thrive and grow, to the benefit of the wider Welsh economy. I would urge anyone who hasn’t already reserved their tickets for this event to do so fast, as spaces are filling up quickly. As ever, many thanks to our season sponsors, Prescott Jones, our drink’s reception sponsor ND John Wine merchants and to Bevan Buckland our table plan sponsors.

Tickets to the Flagship lunch with Wynne Evans cost £40 for members and £49.50 for non-members. This will include a three-course lunch and all our birthday entertainment.

Guests are asked to arrive at the Brangwyn Hall from 12:15 for a drinks reception, to be seated for lunch at 1pm. Bookings will close at midnight on Friday 28th June, one week before the event. To avoid disappointment early booking is recommended.
