Welsh Businesses Invited to Discover the Benefits of Smart Towns for Business Growth

Welsh businesses are invited to attend an online workshop titled “SMART Towns For Smarter Businesses.”

This free session, part of the Smart Towns Wales initiative, aims to empower businesses, towns, and councils to leverage data and technology for the regeneration of high streets across Wales.

The Smart Towns Wales programme, funded by the Welsh Government, offers insights into what it means to be a smart town and the tangible benefits this can bring to local businesses.

Participants will learn practical steps they can take to harness smart technology, enhancing their operations and boosting the vitality of their high streets.

The session will cover:

  • An introduction to Smart Towns, focusing on real-life benefits for businesses.
  • Success stories from businesses across Wales already benefiting from smart technology.
  • Techniques for monitoring footfall to optimise operations and identify opportunities.
  • Strategies for collaborative marketing to increase customer visits.
  • Effective use of sensors for routine monitoring and reducing operational costs.
  • Insights into digital platforms and applications that can enhance business engagement.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance on accessing further support.

The online session, taking place on Tuesday, 8 October 2024 at 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM is tailored for high street business owners and managers who seek to grow and optimise their operations. It is designed to be accessible, requiring no prior technical knowledge, and will focus on the practical benefits rather than technical jargon.

The workshop will be led by Kiki Rees-Stavros, Project Manager of the Smart Towns Wales initiative. Kiki brings a wealth of experience from her background in language teaching and her successful business ventures. She is dedicated to making technology practical and understandable, ensuring that businesses and communities can reap the real-world benefits of smart solutions.
