Unity Trust Bank Strengthens Commitment to Wales With New Relationship Manager Appointment

Unity Trust Bank has appointed Paul Williams as Relationship Manager for Wales, strengthening its commitment to supporting organisations that deliver positive social, economic and environmental impact across the nation.

Paul brings more than 25 years of business banking experience, having held senior roles with Santander and NatWest. Based in South Wales, he will focus on growing Unity’s customer base in Wales while providing dedicated relationship management and strategic support to organisations seeking to create lasting change in their communities.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul said:

“Unity is a bank with a clear social purpose. Throughout my career I’ve worked with organisations that want to grow and make a difference, so joining a bank that puts impact at the heart of its decision-making felt like a natural fit for me.

“Wales is home to a vibrant community of values-led businesses and organisations that play a vital role in strengthening local economies and creating opportunities. I’m excited to be joining Unity at a time when there is growing demand for a banking partner that understands both commercial success and social impact.

“I’m looking forward to building strong relationships with organisations across Wales and helping them access the finance, expertise and support they need to grow, invest and maximise their impact. Whether they’re delivering affordable housing, supporting vulnerable people or creating jobs, I want to help our customers achieve their ambitions and make an even greater contribution to communities across Wales.”

Unity is an award-winning commercial bank serving sectors including health and social care, housing and education. The bank supports more than 11,800 organisations, with charities and social enterprises accounting for around half of its customer base.

Earlier this year, Unity’s deposits surpassed £2 billion for the first time, while the bank provided £155.7 million in new lending during the first six months of 2026. Of this, 64% was directed towards organisations operating in disadvantaged communities.

Andy McCabe, Relationship Director for the Midlands and Wales at Unity Trust Bank, said:

“Wales is a key growth region for Unity, with a thriving network of organisations that are delivering social value while driving economic development. Paul’s appointment strengthens our presence on the ground and demonstrates our commitment to investing in Welsh businesses and organisations that are creating positive change.

“Paul brings extensive relationship banking experience and a strong understanding of the Welsh market. His local knowledge and customer-focused approach will help us build deeper partnerships across Wales and support organisations that are looking to grow, invest and deliver lasting impact in the communities they serve.”
