Boyer Welcomes Four Graduate Planners to Offices Across England and Wales

By Appointments · 8 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

Leading planning and design consultancy Boyer, part of LRG, has appointed four graduate planners to its London, Wales and West, Midlands and South offices.

Alfie Iredale, Anna King, Daniel Dimmock and Jessica O’Dell joined Boyer in September, and will support planning teams on a wide range of projects for clients across the UK.

Alfie Iredale joins the London office. He studied for a BA in Urban Planning at Newcastle University before completing an MSc in Spatial Planning at University College London (UCL). Away from work, he’s a keen sportsman with a particular interest in golf and cricket.

Anna King joins the Wales and West office after graduating from Cardiff University with a BSc in Urban Planning and Development. She’s teaching herself the guitar and has just returned from a solo trip to Sri Lanka.

Daniel Dimmock joins the Midlands office with an MPlan in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Sheffield. A keen photographer, he shoots motorsport events, plays cornet in a brass band and is a trained beekeeper.

Jessica O’Dell joins the South office, having completed an undergraduate degree in Geography and a master’s in City Planning at the University of Glasgow. She’s a keen rower and is learning to knit, with the aim of finishing a jumper by the end of the year.

Alongside their day-to-day work, all four will take part in Boyer’s graduate training camp programme, which brings together graduates from across the firm’s offices. Five camps will run between October 2026 and May 2027, held online and at The Meadows, LRG’s corporate headquarters, and usually include a visit to a live development. Last year’s cohort visited White City Living development in London.

Sessions cover planning and consultancy knowledge, professional writing, client care, business management, commercial skills and real-life development examples. At the first camp on 20 October, Mandy Owen and Lucy Carpenter, both Associate Directors at Boyer South, will lead sessions on client care, management, workload and project management.

Commenting on the appointments, Grant Leggett, Managing Director of Boyer, said:

“Planning is a blend of technical knowledge but also people skills, and in consultancy you learn financial awareness as well.

“Alfie, Anna, Daniel and Jessica bring a strong academic grounding, and our role now is to help them apply it with good judgement on real projects. I came into planning by an unconventional route, so I know how much it matters to have experienced people giving you time and support early on. It’s a rewarding career that shapes the places people live and work, and backing graduates is how we make sure the profession has the planners it needs in the years ahead.”

Jess Bain, Associate Director at Boyer, who runs the training camps with Grant, added:

“The camps give our graduates time together away from their own offices. They meet peers facing the same challenges, build their writing and consultancy skills and see how a development works on the ground. Those site visits bring the theory to life, and the connections the graduates make with each other tend to last well beyond the programme.”
