Ultra-Fast EV Charging Hub Launched in Llanelli Retail Park

A new ultra-rapid charging hub has been launched at the Parc Pemberton Retail Park in Llanelli.

The 12-bay hub is the latest of 300 sites that Source – which is backed by SSE and TotalEnergies –  plans to deliver by 2030.

The new hub features five 150kW chargers which, based on industry accepted charging session data, would allow users to ‘charge and go’ in around 15 minutes. There is also a single 22kw charger and one of the bays has been designed to meet accessibility standards.

Drivers can use contactless payment on the terminals or download the new SourceConnect app which allows users to both locate available charge points and track their charging session in real time. New features under development include enhanced tools for fleet operators, booking options, and roaming access through Source’s growing partner network.

Deepa Chandrasekaran, Managing Director at Source, said:

“The EV industry has reached a turning point, and we’re here to lead it into uncharted territories. At Source, we’re not just building charge points, we’re building confidence. Our ambition is to capture 20% of the UK & Ireland’s ultra-rapid market by delivering hubs that are easy to find, easy to use, and built for the future.”

Source selects its hub locations using the latest available data on user need and suitability and they are designed and built with data gathered from existing sites by the company’s Sentinel monitoring system.
