The Welsh Diaspora: An Opportunity for the Economy

Blaenau Gwent is home to a pilot project to tap into the talents of local people who have achieved success elsewhere and encourage them to connect back with their hometown.

Similar projects are already up and running, including the ARFOR scheme across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Gwynedd and Anglesey which seeks to use entrepreneurship and economic development to support the heartlands of the Welsh language.

Business News Wales editor Gemma Casey spoke to Zara May, Head of Community and Operations at Global Welsh, Placemaking Consultant Owen Davies and Owain James, founder of Darogan Talent, about the potential for the Welsh diaspora to bring huge benefits for entrepreneurs, businesses and local economies.
