Swansea Marketing Agency Celebrates £1m Milestone

Swansea Marketing Agency Celebrates £1M Milestone

A Swansea-based marketing agency has gone from start-up to a £1 million business in the space of just two years.

Founded by Jess Hickman and Louise Rengozzi, The Cusp now has clients throughout the UK as well as in Abu Dhabi.

The business provides a range of services including social media marketing, video on demand, audio marketing and outdoor advertising.

The agency has also launched a podcast called Marketing Heroes that shares weekly insights from industry leaders that inspire businesses to create lasting impact.

Organised by The Cusp, tickets are now available for an event called Rise and Thrive on Thursday March 6 in the build-up to International Women’s Day.

Taking place at The Georgian in Swansea from 8am to 11am and celebrating women in business, attendees will hear from a line-up of female entrepreneurs and thought leaders from pioneering Welsh organisations.

They’ll include Sarah Drummond, the director & co-founder of Drop Bear Beer; Isabella Williams, the founder of Sunnieside Skin; Dr Michaela James, founder of Girls to the Front; business speaker Bernie Davies; and mindset and marketing coach Crystal Jukes.

The Cusp has been supported by a website development grant and a business growth grant from Swansea Council via the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Louise said:

“As we celebrate our second anniversary, we’re not just looking back at how far we’ve come but we’re also looking forward to the impact we want to continue making.

“Building a £1 million marketing agency from scratch in such a competitive industry hasn’t been easy, but it proves that when you lead with integrity, real growth happens. Our team is small but mighty, and we’re incredibly proud of how we’ve navigated challenges while delivering exceptional results for our clients.”

The Rise and Thrive event will also include a panel discussion featuring 2024 Pride of Britain Award Winner Molly Leonard, alongside representatives from The King’s Trust.

Jess said:

“This is more than just a breakfast – it’s an opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired by incredible women shaping the future. Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur, a business owner, or someone seeking motivation, this event is designed to empower and uplift.

“As we look ahead as a business, our focus remains on scaling The Cusp with integrity and purpose.

“We’ve built a reputation for delivering innovative, data-driven marketing solutions while staying true to our ethical foundations.

“Our next chapter is about expanding our impact, strengthening our community connections, and continuing to help businesses grow in a meaningful way.”

Some of the Cusp’s clients include MBZUAI in Abu Dhabi, Mentera, Bury College, Coleg y Cymoedd and Sandwell College.
