Solicitors Win the Inaugural Women in Property South Wales Netball Tournament

Cardiff based legal firm, LG Williams and Prichard have won the inaugural Women in Property South Wales Netball Tournament, beating off seven other teams of female property professionals to take the trophy.

The unique event, sponsored by Blake Morgan LLP, was held at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff to provide a fun team building and networking opportunity for women working in the property sector.  A total of eight teams participated including Powell Dobson, Hugh James, Bell Contracting, Eversheds, and Ince.

Speaking about the event, Rhiannon Peploe-Williams, senior solicitor from sponsors Blake Morgan, as well as Women in Property South Wales committee member said:

“There has been a lot of interest and enthusiasm around the netball tournament, and I think this is because it is unusual to have a sport based professional networking event that is targeted at women.  Despite some healthy rivalry and competition, the overwhelming atmosphere on the day was really positive and collegiate – and based on the level of interest I hope this will become a regular event for the Women in Property South Wales branch”.

Hedydd Davies, associate  property solicitor and team captain from LG Williams and Prichard said:

“It is great to be able to take part in this kind of event, and we really enjoyed playing alongside other local professional women.  We really didn’t expect to win – and it was a really great team effort to take home the trophy on the day.  We look forward to defending our title at next year’s event!”

Natalie Bell, Chairman of the Women in Property South Wales branch and head of business development for Andrew Scott added:

“It is fantastic to see such a positive response to different forms of networking in our region.  We are facilitating new connections through teamwork, exercise and a healthy dose of competition, definitely a winning combination!”

Women in Property is a national membership organisation that creates opportunities, expands knowledge and inspires change for women working in the property and construction industry.
