Simon Weston Goes Back to his Roots

Falklands war veteran Simon Weston has returned to his roots, having recently relocated his successful security management business to Caerphilly county borough.

Simon, who originally comes from Nelson, and his business partner Paul Hartshorn have relocated Weston FM Group from Pontypool and taken up a lease at one of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s business properties at One Foxes Lane on Oakdale Business Park.

Established in 2013, Weston FM Group specialise in a range of services including security, mobile patrol and alarm response, alarm and CCTV monitoring, fire protection systems and commercial cleaning.

Director Simon Weston commented:

‘Relocating to Oakdale Business Park places us at the centre of Caerphilly county borough, and we are looking forward to expanding our business in the county which is home to many successful businesses, some of whom are already clients of Weston Group’.

Simon and Paul recently welcomed Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Interim Chief Executive, Christina Harrhy and Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy, Cllr Sean Morgan to see the set-up of their new business premises.

Cllr Sean Morgan said,

“It really was a pleasure to visit Simon, Paul and the team to see their impressive business operation first hand, and we’re delighted that they’ve chosen Caerphilly county borough as their place to do business. Oakdale Business Park is a key strategic site and we’re very pleased to have such a prestigious business as Weston FM Group; a business that prides itself on integrity and professionalism, as a tenant at one of our business units. I wish them every success for the future”.

Director Paul Hartshorn added,

“It is good to share the vision and commitment that Christina and Sean have for the county borough and we are looking forward to being part of that success”.

Caerphilly County Borough Council has recently introduced a new approach to marketing its industrial and office property portfolio, to help further encourage entrepreneurs and businesses to choose Caerphilly county borough as their place to do business.

The new approach involves asking interested customers to register for alerts on a new website so that when a unit becomes available, all interested parties are invited to submit proposals on the tenancy by a given deadline. It aims to improve the speed at which tenancies are exchanged, reducing the time that units are unoccupied and enabling quicker occupation by new tenants.
