A North Wales-based security firm is celebrating a year of success.

Parallel Security has doubled revenues and staff in the past 12 months on the back of winning some prestigious contracts.

It has also secured the Security Industry Authority’s prestigious Approved Contractor Status.

Parallel Security was set up by Managing Director Francis Johnson in 2014 and employs over 100 full and part-time staff.

Most of the firm’s work involves providing security services for events, including this year’s Glastonbury Festival and Manchester Pride, and static security for the likes of construction sites and schools across the UK. Door security and cleaning services make up the rest of the company’s activities.

Francis, 31, whose business is based in Wrexham and is a graduate of the town’s Glyndwr University, said:

“We have had a strong year of growth and our aim is to double in size again in 2020.

“Achieving the SIA accreditation took a lot of hard work by the team, but it is hugely important in demonstrating to clients that we have the best possible quality management systems in place.

“We are now working on behalf of clients across the whole of the UK and we are also geared up to provide services abroad as well.

“This year, we have worked on over 50 events, a huge increase on last year.”

Francis has big plans to continue developing Parallel Security, including launching a training division to train security personnel in best practice.

The company’s success has been recognised by the Welsh Government which has included Parallel Security on its Accelerated Growth Programme (AGP) aimed at helping some of the country’s most promising businesses achieve their maximum potential.
