One of North Wales’ fastest growing companies almost doubled revenues in the last 12 months.

Colwyn Bay-based GO2 Drivers, part of the GO2 People Group, saw turnover top £1.5million in the financial year to the end of December 2018, a 45% rise on the previous year.

During the same period, the company added 30 new drivers to its team – taking the total headcount to 82.

Since launching in 2015, GO2 Drivers has established itself as one of the leading suppliers of HGV drivers in the region. Clients include Maelor Foods, Hook 2 Sisters, McCarthy Haulage and A.W.Jenkinson.

The company is owned by directors Chris Hughes, who has a strong background in the logistics sector, and Steve Bromley, who has held senior roles with a number of blue-chip brands.

The company is now looking towards further expansion with the possibility of opening additional bases in the Midlands and North West England.

Chris said:

“We have gone from strength to strength in the last 12 months. We pride ourselves on recruiting and supplying top quality drivers to represent our brand and those of our clients.

“Our customers know that we strive to employ experienced, professional and trustworthy drivers – ranging in age from their 20s to our oldest driver who is 75.

“The North Wales economy is vibrant with Holyhead growing all the time and other major ports like Birkenhead and Liverpool on our doorstep.”

Last year, GO2 Drivers covered an average of over 200 shifts a week, rising to over 300 per week in the run up to Christmas.
