Newport Now Launches New-Look City Centre App


Newport Now, the Business Improvement District (BID) for Newport, has launched a new way for visitors to the city centre to save money and discover local businesses.

The new-look Newport Now app represents a significant milestone in boosting footfall and empowering local businesses, it said.

In celebration of the launch, the BID is running an in-app competition for a chance to win a £250 Newport Now gift card. The gift card that can only be spent in the city centre at businesses ranging from huge nationals like Primark and Boots to small independents like Gallery 57 and Bubble Trouble.

The competition will run for a month, giving users an early incentive to engage with this innovative platform.

The Newport Now app seamlessly transitions all the features from the previous LoyalFree app while introducing additional new offers.

“We are thrilled to have launched this fantastic digital platform for local businesses, precisely tailored to enhance the local experience,” said Newport Now BID manager Kevin Ward.

The new app’s features include:

  • Captivating Trails: Embark on trails that reveal the city's history, hidden gems, and thriving local businesses. All popular trails from the LoyalFree app will continue to be available, along with new, exclusive trails.
  • Digital Loyalty Cards: Seamless loyalty programmes with participating businesses, collecting stamps to earn rewards. Existing loyalty cards will carry over, and new programmes will be added to enhance your shopping experience.
  • Exclusive Deals: Save money when you shop local with enticing promotions and discounts. All current deals from the LoyalFree app will be available, plus additional new offers to make the most of your experience in Newport.
  • Event Calendar: Stay informed about upcoming local events, ensuring you never miss out on thrilling happenings.
  • Competitions & Giveaways: Get a chance to win local prizes through interactive trails and click-to-enter competitions, including the £250 Newport Now gift voucher.
  • Local Guide: Access helpful information about Newport, its notable attractions, parking options, local weather, accommodations, and more.

Businesses already signed up to the app include Bar Piazza, Horton’s Lounge, Bubble Trouble, Pierre’s, Coffee Corner, Chapter 36 and Xclusive Jewellers – all offering deals.
