Marketing Collab, a new marketing service created to support small and medium-sized businesses across Wales, has officially launched.
Borne out of Clwb Marketing, a networking community set up especially for marketing professionals, Marketing Collab was founded by Lauren Hill, alongside experienced angel investor and non-executive director Annie Finlayson.
Marketing Collab, which is headquartered in Caerphilly, takes a different approach to how marketing support is traditionally delivered. Rather than operating as an external agency, the team embeds itself inside organisations, acting as their marketing team and working closely with a company’s leadership team to understand the business from the inside out.
The service has been designed for businesses that either don’t have an in-house marketing team or have one in place but need additional expertise and strategic clarity.
Lauren Hill, former marketing manager at one of the UK’s leading insurance brokers, explained the concept:
“Marketing Collab is more than a collective of specialist marketers – it is partner-led, with a dedicated relationship manager as a singular point of contact. That person is responsible for bringing expertise together from our network of specialists who work in different disciplines and sectors, to match your business needs. This allows us to deploy the exact skills required to meet the specific needs of each business.”
Annie Finlayson, angel investor and business consultant, said:
“Marketing covers a wide range of disciplines, and it’s unrealistic to expect one marketing manager to be brilliant at everything. Marketing Collab helps businesses identify what expertise they need to achieve their goals, and then brings together the right specialists to support them.
“We’re not positioning ourselves as an agency. We act as a business’s marketing team. Building strategy, supporting delivery, and focusing on growth, without a business having to carry the financial and administrative burden of recruiting a full team.”
Lauren Hill founded Clwb Marketing with her colleague Kirsty Bird nearly two years ago, creating a supportive space for marketers across Wales.
Lauren added:
“Marketing Collab is really an extension of what Clwb Marketing proudly stands for: collaboration, shared expertise and doing marketing properly.
“We see so many businesses struggling not because they don’t believe in marketing, but because they don’t have access to the right skills at the right time. This model brings everything together under one roof, shaped around what the business actually needs.”
Since its soft launch, Marketing Collab has already been working with a number of leading brands across Wales, including organisations in the legal, pharmaceutical, public and transport sectors.
