New Independent Veterinary Practice Launches in Carmarthen

A new independent veterinary practice has opened at Parc Pensarn in Carmarthen.

Seren Vets has been created by a group of local like-minded vets who share similar values and a common goal: to offer high-quality independent veterinary care for the surrounding community, whilst also looking after their staff and building a happy and committed team.

After years of planning by vets Kevin Jones and Katy Peak, the opportunity presented itself to open the Carmarthen practice as part of the Burns Pet Wellness Centre, in new purpose-built premises.

Kevin and Katy are joined by Jo Lloyd Davies and Nia Williams to make a start-up team of four vets with a combined experience of almost fifty years.  Completing the Seren team are three experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses and two Receptionists, some of whom may be familiar faces to many within the local area.

As a fresh and brand-new practice with a bespoke building and experienced team, Seren Vets will be in the position to take on new clients at a time when many veterinary practices have closed their books. It will also be the only independent small animal practice in Carmarthen, with all other local practices now belonging to large corporate companies.

The practice will provide comprehensive first opinion small animal veterinary care, and also a dedicated service for Exotic and Zoological Animals on certain days provided by Dr Kevin Jones.

Speaking about the opening of the new practice, Katy said:

“We’re excited to be opening our new practice, and we’re proud to be independent. We believe that this allows us to retain a personal touch, continuity of care, and the freedom of our own decision-making to the benefit of our practice, staff and clients.”

Kevin added:

“We aim to offer excellence in our standards of care, communication and service. We would like to do things a little differently and we hope that our clients and staff will appreciate the ethos and values we plan to uphold. We’re very pleased with the team we’ve assembled, and it’s wonderful to be welcoming our first patients.”
