Howden Partners with Sported (Wales) to Support Grassroots Sport Across Wales

Insurance broker Howden and Sported (Wales) are launching a new partnership united by a shared commitment to strengthening grassroots sport, supporting young people, and creating positive community impact across Wales.

The partnership focuses on skills-based support, with colleagues from Howden’s Cardiff, Newport and Ystrad Mynach branches joining the Sported (Wales) Volunteer Consultant network to share professional expertise and practical guidance directly with community sports groups.

Through the Sported (Wales) national network of over 400 grassroots sports groups, Howden will launch “Howden Hot Seat”. These interactive sessions will provide clubs with direct access to professional insurance insights and the opportunity to ask questions on topics from managing risk and responsibilities to making informed decisions that protect their people and their futures.

Samuel Manship, Commercial Development Executive – Wales, Howden, said:

“We’re proud to partner with Sported (Wales) to help strengthen grassroots clubs, who do incredible work in the heart of our communities. We’re excited to support them by being on-hand to answer their questions and share our insurance expertise.

“That same commitment to being a force for good in sport runs from being Principal Partner of The British & Irish Lions to supporting the community clubs here at home that bring people together week in, week out. Together, this collaborative approach will help community sports clubs across Wales grow with confidence and create more high-quality opportunities for young people.”

Richard Thomas, Wales National Manager – Sported (Wales), said:

“This partnership with Howden is a brilliant example of how businesses can use their expertise to support grassroots sport. By welcoming Howden colleagues from across their business into our Volunteer Consultant network and launching the Howden Hot Seat sessions, we’re expanding the support available to clubs and helping them build stronger, more sustainable futures.”
