Free AI Workshops Announced for Tourism and Hospitality Businesses Across Wales

A series of free workshops will take place across Wales to help tourism and hospitality businesses explore practical ways to use artificial intelligence.

Additional sessions have been scheduled following demand for an earlier round of workshops, with seven events taking place during September and October.

Funded by the Welsh Government and delivered by MWT Cymru, the hands-on workshops are aimed at SME and micro tourism and hospitality businesses, including those completely new to AI as well as those already experimenting with the technology.

Attendees will learn practical ways to use AI to:

  • Create social media content to support engagement and bookings
  • Improve Visit Wales and Google listings to help customers and AI search tools find their businesses
  • Respond more quickly to customer enquiries
  • Save time producing content, updates and emails
  • Strengthen their online presence and digital marketing

Businesses that attended previous workshops recorded an average 63% increase in organic website traffic.

The 2026 workshops will take place at:

  • Tuesday 8 September – Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa, Tenby
  • Wednesday 9 September – Welsh Government office, Carmarthen
  • Thursday 10 September – Moody Meadows (Bargoed Farm), Aberaeron
  • Wednesday 7 October – Y Cwt (Longacre Farm), Barry
  • Thursday 8 October – Mercure Newport, Newport
  • Tuesday 13 October – Ty Newydd Country Hotel, Aberdare
  • Wednesday 14 October – Baskerville Hall Hotel, Hay-on-Wye

Each workshop includes step-by-step guidance, live demonstrations and hands-on activities. An optional afternoon Action Lab will also give attendees an opportunity to put what they have learned into practice with one-to-one or small-group support.

The workshops are fully funded by the Welsh Government and places are limited to a maximum of two people per business or organisation across the series.

Tourism and hospitality businesses can find out more about the workshops and register for a session here.
